Charlotte’s POV Nora began to nod off halfway through her small cone of chocolate ice cream, nearly dropping it on the sidewalk before I caught it, which was surprising, as both Kieran and I assumed the sugar would have her bouncing off the walls by mid-afternoon. Her head lolled against her shoulder, eyes fluttering shut. Kieran and I exchanged a surprised, amused glance over her head as he scooped her up and let her rest against his chest. “Well,” he said quietly, so as not to wake her. “That’s shocking.” I laughed a little, pressing my fingers to my lips. “I guess she’s tuckered out from the whole ordeal.” Kieran nodded and stood. “Let’s head back to the hotel,” he said, and I nodded and followed him down the sidewalk, dropping the unfinished cone in a nearby trash can.
