Charlotte’s POV   I had assumed that the kiss would be on the cheek, a subtle turn of the head to make it appear real but not actually going through with it.   I turned my head, expecting exactly that.   So did Kieran, except he turned his toward me instead of away, and before I could process what was happening, his lips were on mine.   It wasn’t a perfunctory peck on the lips, either. It was slow, and warm, and tender, and his mouth tasted like spearmint and him, and for a moment, everything else fell away.   I melted into him without meaning to.
