“What?” He asked so I spread the images across the table. “Look at them.” I said and everyone leaned closer. “What’s wrong with them?” Heath asked. “They’re all taken from a distance.” I said and Casey immediately noticed. “Damn.” He said as I pointed toward another image. “Nobody’s posing. Nobody’s looking at the camera.” I said pointing to another. Silence settled over the table because I was right. Every photo had been taken secretly and someone had been watching. They were watching my father and watching the people around him. Following them and documenting them. And apparently keeping records. “These are surveillance photos.” Casey said. “Looks that way.” I said. An uneasy feeling settled into my chest. Because surveillance meant someone head been investigating.
