Nobody liked the look of the package. That became obvious the second we stepped onto the porch. Blade approached first while Casey hung back and Drake positioned himself directly in front of me like he thought the cardboard box might suddenly grow legs and attack. “You’re doing it again.” I sighed. “I’m always doing it.” He said. “That’s not healthy.” I said. “It’s working.” He said and Brax snorted. “Unfortunately he’s got a point.” Brax said and I looked toward Brax. “You’re supposed to be on my side.” I said. “I’m on the side of not getting blown up.” He said. That ended the argument and Blade crouched beside the package while Casey carefully inspected the exterior. “No wires.” Caey said. “Good.” Blade said. “No unusual weight.” Casey said. “Good.” Blade said.
