“I know.” She muttered. “No. I don’t think you do.” Blade said shaking his head. Another silence settled across the room before Blade spoke again as he was trying to come to terms with it. “You had influence here. You had responsibility and you had access. That’s over.” He said looking around the room with everyone agreeing. “What does that mean?” Vanessa asked. “It means you don’t attend strategy meetings. You don’t have access to club information. You don’t speak for the club and you also don’t make decisions involving this club.” Blade announced. “So that’s it?” Vanessa asked. “That it.” Blade said and she laughed quietly. Not because anything was funny but because humiliation had finally reached the surface. “I’ve been here for years.” She said. “I know.” Blade said.
