I didn’t let it sit and I didn’t pretend I didn’t hear it. I watched Drake walk away from the patio while the yard went back to noise that didn’t mean anything. “Drake.” I said but he kept walking. He didn’t turn right away and he dragged a hand over the back of his neck like he already knew where this was going. “Not now.” He said. “Now.” I replied stopping a couple of feet away from him. “It’s nothing.” He said. “Then you won’t mind explaining it.” I said. “It’s nothing you need to worry about.” He said so I stepped closer. “That’s not what I asked.” I said. He held my gaze for a second and then looked away toward the trees. “Storm.” He started. “No. Don’t do that thing where you decide what I get to know.” I said and he frowned slightly. “I’m not deciding anything.
