"Where to now?" E-V asked as I contemplated where I could find Kage.
"Only one place he might be," I said, remembering the only person he could go to, the only person who had been frequent in his life.
"Freaking Mindy!" I hissed under my breath as I sped to her apartment. I had a feeling he might be with her. Funny story, every time I lost him, I found him in bed with her.
But this time, I don't think jealousy would be the reason I'd get angry with him if I found him with her. It would be more like, why would he let her into his life after she threatened his kids? I mean, he had been showing signs of change, so if he really changed, he would consider dropping the woman who tried hurting his babies.
Once outside her apartment door, I took a deep breath and knocked hard.
