"Oops!" Hilla exclaimed, looking lost as she didn’t know how to respond to that.
“You didn't have to,” Kage grunted at me before he put on a fake smile on his lips.
"Yup, that's me, the alpha king, Kage," he stated proudly, probably not realizing that it wasn't something to be very proud of. I rolled my eyes and gently rubbed Hilla’s arm to comfort her.
"So, you're that creature with fangs?" she continued to ask him, her eyes glued to his face as she examined him.
"Yeah!" Kage replied. However, I expected him to be more cocky, but he already seemed to be done with the conversation and was now looking around to spot something for fun.
