After a few minutes, I began to hear my phone ring and realized I had been lying there for hours now.
Flashback:
Mom and I escaped, and it felt like we had finally been free. But it wasn't over yet. My mom was badly injured, and so was I. We had been starving and sleepless for months now. It was already hard for my mother to stay awake, and on top of that, she had triggered her wolf to fight the guards.
I'm sure that after some rest, she would be able to transition and heal, but she needed a place to rest and probably eat something to regain her strength.
