I was startled when Kian’s voice echoed in my ear.
My brows deepened into a frown, “I’m sorry I was spacing out. What is it again?”
Kian sighed and then dragged his fingers through his sleek blonde hair. “You are not in the mood to talk about anything. I get it. But you have to focus now.”
“Yeah. I just…” I shook my head and dragged my hands down my face as I exhaled heavily. “Maybe I just need a little rest from it.”
I couldn’t focus. It was Monday, the usual day when I had to deal with lots of paperwork piled on my office desk, with Kian telling me what those papers were all about. Normally, they were just requests or complaints from the people living on my turf, while some were about funding that needed my signature to be released. Kian knew
