I stretched lazily in bed, enjoying the blissful silence after weeks of the chaotic tour schedule. Finally—a whole week to myself. The blackout curtains kept the bedroom deliciously dark, cocooning me in warmth. When I reached one hand out from under the covers to grab the remote, the cold air hit my skin like a slap.
"s**t!" I yanked my arm back under the blanket, staring at the remote and my phone sitting on the nightstand. After a mental pep talk, I braved the cold again and snatched both items.
As the curtains gradually parted at the push of a button, a dismal gray sky came into view. Just looking at it made me shiver. Great. One of those dreary winter days that make you want to hibernate forever.
