Phoenix Althought Robyn assured us that dinner would just be a casual family event, Jack and I still opted to dress up. I put on a pale blue dress shirt, and Jack was wearing grey trousers with a matching vest. Robyn came out of her room wearing a bright, turquoise sundress. Her pale skin was glowing, and her eyes were sparkling as she grinned up at us. I noticed that she had the pendant that Jack and I had bought resting against the base of her throat. It made me feel so good to see her proudly displaying our relationship like that. It was almost like she was daring our parents to make an issue of it. I couldn’t wait for the day I could put a ring on her finger too. Jack and I walked her down stairs, one on either side of her like she was a debutante making a grand entrance. Too b
