Once upon a time, I thought I was in love with Paige Nightengale. Looking at Paige now, it was hard to imagine what we ever saw in her, but she was different back in our university days. She’d been fresh and natural, with a sort of small-town, innocent-girl-next-door charm. But, reflecting back, her innocence, like everything else, had just been an act.
