Robert looked at Melissa as if she were a complete stranger, and my heart broke for her.
At least I got to raise my son, I thought, grateful for that small mercy.
Another nanny came in with Erin, too. I hoped Cole had dropped the whole idea of changing Erin’s name.
"Ivy, he looks like Cole with blonde hair," Melissa said, and I laughed, realising she was right.
"I told you so," Diane said, smiling as I pulled her close.
"Mel, meet Diane Preston, my new bestie," I said, introducing them.
Melissa placed her hand on her chest, "I am so jealous right now," she said, and Diane hugged her warmly.
"Our families are getting along now, so we can be friends too," Diane said with a smile, speaking from one alpha to another. Melissa laughed, and the sound was like music to my ears.
