I wake up slowly. I can feel Cyryl’s head resting against my body. Her breathing is even so I know she’s asleep.
I shift, adjusting my aching ribs into a more comfortable position. Honestly, I’m surprised I’m not more sore. Cracked ribs should take longer to heal, but I seem to be healing faster than I normally would. I wonder if that’s because of Cyryl. I’ll have to ask her.
