"So, you witnessed this attempted ra.pe, and have proof of the condition you found Millie in? Her face was all bruised, correct?" Derek asked.
"That's correct." Leo said.
Derek clicked the remote to pull up the pictures Leo took of my face after. He gave everyone a few seconds to look over the photos. Then he didn't even address them. Just left them up for everyone to keep staring at as he continued.
"And it wouldn't have just been attempted if it weren't for you interfering?" Derek asked.
"That is also correct," Leo said.
"Hmm. That seems more plausible than the many stories that Mr. Melrose and Mr. Maroney are saying," Derek said. "That's all your honor."
Derek came back to take his seat. I watched as Leo walked off the stand. He gave me a wink when he passed me, and I blushed.
