The moment I heard it was Kade who took those bullets instead of Damon, something inside me shattered completely. Rage exploded through my body like a bomb detonating. I grabbed the nearest man by his throat, slamming him against the wall so hard the plaster cracked.
"You incompetent bastards!" I screamed, my voice raw. "One simple job! Take the goddamn documents then leave! How the f**k did you shoot the wrong person?"
My men tried pulling me off. "Alpha, please, we can fix this."
"Fix it?" I threw the man aside, turning my fury on the rest of them. "My man is bleeding out because of your stupidity! You were supposed to aim for Damon! Just Damon!"
I paced the room like a caged animal, my hands pulling at my hair. The leather jacket I wore suddenly felt too tight, suffocating.
