SLOANE It was Rika. He didn't hesitate, didn't think, didn't say a single word. He just attacked with a violence that took my breath away. I watched him shift mid-stride, his body transforming in seconds until a massive gray wolf with golden eyes stood where he'd been. Beautiful and terrifying at the same time. He went straight for the one holding me, Gerald, and I barely had time to blink before Rika's jaws clamped around his neck. There was a sickening crack and Gerald's grip on me went limp. Rika tore into his flesh with a hard brutal swipe of his claws, and blood sprayed everywhere, hot and dark in the cold rain. Gerald's body hit the ground, lifeless. The other wolf, the black-haired one, immediately turned to run. But Rika was faster, so much faster. He caught him within seconds
