SLOANE Damon looked at Rika and whatever passed between them in that one long stare said everything that needed to be said. Rika held it for two seconds, nodded once, and walked out, pulling the door shut quietly behind him. Just like that, it was only us. Damon crossed the room toward me and I watched him come, his dark eyes moving over my face, my damp white shirt sticking to my back, my hair wild around my shoulders, all of me flushed and burning and completely undone. He was in all black, shirt open at the collar, dark jeans sitting low on his hips, jaw dusted with stubble, and my body responded to him walking toward me before my brain had even caught up. The mark on my neck pulsed hard like it was reaching for him on its own. He stopped right in front of me and dropped to his knee
