The door opened in the video and Cade bounded in full of energy. He was wearing his dinosaur shirt, the blue one with the T-Rex on the front that he insisted on wearing at least three times a week. His dark hair was messy from playing, and his face was bright and happy and so innocent it hurt to look at. He stopped when he saw Athena and looked surprised for just a second, but then he smiled that pure trusting smile kids give adults they think are safe.
"Aunt Athena!" His little voice came through the phone speaker clear and joyful. "I'm playing hide and seek with Einstein and I can't find him anywhere! Have you seen him? Did he come in here?"
