TRACY POV I heard something crash…loud enough to shake the walls. My heart jumped to my throat, and I ran straight to that room. My hand stopped right at the door handle. I didn’t dare open it fully. Instead, I pushed it just enough to peek inside. The room was dark, only a small slice of moonlight slipping in through the window. And there he was. Zed. Crouched on the floor. Shoulders heavy. Head down. His entire body trembling like the weight of the world finally crushed him. My heart squeezed painfully. I hadn’t seen him like this in five years. Not since Anna.
