I hear some shuffling and then panting. “Courtney.” I sigh with relief. “Grandpa, are you ok? What happened?” I ask him, and he chuckles before he coughs. “I’m ok Spitfire, We were ambushed, but I’m ok, we are all ok. Grim, being Grim, is acting like a tough man. Don’t worry, sweetheart. We are ok.” He is a terrible liar. I can hear the pain in his voice and it just makes me angry and nervous. God above all, these emotions can not be good for my daughter. “I have a plan, grandpa.
