Sophia knew it might not be a good idea to present herself to Ethan using Abril's body. Doing so would reveal her existence. However, she couldn't let him keep searching for her, keep suffering because of her. She wanted to free him from the chains he had been carrying for more than 20 years.
"Could you leave us alone for a moment?"
Sophia said as she stared at Ethan. Cassian refused to leave them alone, but Maya and Dantriel dragged him out. When they were alone, Sophia took Ethan's hand and said to him.
"I'm sorry, Ethan. Forgive me for all the harm I've caused you."
Ethan caressed her cheek.
"It's not true, you're still alive."
"I died 20 years ago, a few days after giving birth to my daughter. The body you're touching is hers."
"How?"
"My daughter is special, Ethan. I was weak
