Brayden
Brayden was in the barn spreading the hay his dad told him to spread. This was his after-school chore. His mother had been napping with the twins when he got home. So he grabbed a cookie and made his way out back, where he found his dad. He put him to work right away. Then his dad went to feed the pigs and his uncles Rob and Jared went to do the afternoon milking of the cows.
He liked working on the ranch, it made him feel big. His daddy and uncles did chores, so he should do them too. Then, at the end of the day, while his dad and uncles had a beer to relax, he got to have a root beer. He’d put his feet up with his daddy and uncles, and they would talk about football, the rodeo and future plans. They always included him, because he was one of the guys.
