Maverick
Maverick was told that Brayden had been brought to a room with his aunt and uncle while they waited for the results of the X-ray. Maverick’s brows furrowed at the aunt and uncle reference. He hurried to the room number he was given.
When he stepped in, the room was dim, but there was some soft lighting. He saw Zion and Angie, and it made him relax. They were the aunt and uncle. It makes sense now. He looked over at the bed. His breath hitched. His little boy looked so small.
“They gave him a sedative to help with the pain. He’s a little out of it,” Zion said.
Maverick nodded. He looked around the room. It definitely catered to kids. There was a big red rocket ship on one wall with some animals in space suits. There was a big moon and glowing stars around it.
