I was trying to be positive, but I was f*****g terrified. I couldn’t let her see me fall apart. The comment in the car about her just lying there was out of line, and I didn’t mean it. I was just trying to reassure myself that everything would be okay, but it was incredibly insensitive. I wasn’t one of those people who thought getting a cesarean wasn’t a real birth. It was. They literally cut your gut open to get the baby out, and then they staple you back up. I watched my sister after she gave birth when Sandy and I visited, and the amount of pain she was in, I felt for her. It also showed me how much Marcus really loved her, and I’ve become a lot closer to him. I love the way he treats my sister.
