My phone rang, and I looked at the caller ID. Nick was in the shower; we had just come in from surfing lessons, and I was ordering room service for us before I joined him.
“My big brother can’t go a few weeks without my presence?” I asked Sasha.
“Never. I miss you immensely.”
I smiled. Sasha, Alexi, and I were really close. They were the best brothers.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Well, there have been some developments in our family.”
My eyebrows rose at that.
“What kind?”
“Mother has a new daughter. Sierra, Angelo’s fiancé has asked her to be her honorary mother.”
I laughed. “Oh, poor Alexi.”
“You have no idea. He’s been moaning about it all day. Will you accept her?”
“Yes. It was us in the wrong, and she dealt with it with dignity.
