Shaun’s been my best friend since we were both sophomores in high school when he moved to Michigan from California. We had the same Home Economics class, and we hit it off right away. I was the only person he told that he was gay. When he went to college, I urged him to experiment and come out of the closet, but he didn’t. I didn’t get to go to college.
