I woke the next morning before anyone came to check on me. For a few seconds, I stayed in bed and thought about what I had decided the night before. I didn't want my days in Pinehaven to become nothing but eating, sleeping, and wondering about Cassian. I needed to start doing something for myself.
After getting dressed, I left the visitor house and found Mara outside. She told me Lenora was already awake and having breakfast. I thanked her and headed toward the house she pointed out yesterday. Pinehaven was already busy around me.
Lenora invited me to sit when I arrived. There were eggs, bread, fruit, and meat on the table. I ate more than I expected because I hadn't realized how hungry I was. Lenora waited until I finished before asking what I wanted to discuss.
