I woke to the sound of birds outside Cassian's bedroom window. For a moment, I forgot where I was and reached across the bed. Cassian was beside me, still asleep, with one arm resting around my waist. I smiled and moved closer, enjoying the warmth of his body.
Nyra was already awake and wanted to go outside. She reminded me about the run we'd promised Ronan. I told her we would go after breakfast, just as Cassian had suggested. She wasn't pleased about waiting, but she agreed.
'Ronan has been waiting to run with me,' Nyra said. 'I want to see how fast he is now. We haven't raced since we started spending time together again. I think I can beat him.'
