Elena's Pov.
"Oh god, guys, this heat is killing me," I said, wiping the sweat from my forehead as I leaned back against the rough bark of the tree.
We were deep in the forest, miles from any trail, on this stupid spontaneous hike Marcus had dragged us into.
Derek was right there with him, always up for whatever crazy idea popped into their heads.
Me? Elena, the one who thought a day out in nature would be relaxing.
Now here we were, lost in the thick woods, the sun beating down through the leaves, making everything sticky and uncomfortable.
Marcus grinned at me, his eyes scanning my body like he always did when he thought I wasn't noticing.
"Come on, Elena, it's not that bad. You look all flushed and sweaty… well it's kinda hot, actually."
