“This trial is adjourned!” I declared.
Everyone looked speechless, as if they still couldn’t comprehend my decision.
“You need to lie down now,” Kael whispered. Then he turned to everyone. “You heard the Alpha. This trial is adjourned!”
I turned away from them, ready to walk out. I didn’t have the energy anymore to deal with the elders. I knew I should’ve pointed out execution.
But I’m not like that.
My body felt heavy. Every single day was draining me, and I just wanted to rest, to breathe for once without the weight of people’s eyes on me.
