“What are you two doing?” I asked my brother and sister, as they waited by the clubhouse door looking out into the parking lot.
“I’m waiting for my woman,” Mimic said.
“I’m waiting for my man," Isobel said, at the same time as Mimic.
They both looked at each other weirdly. I busted up laughing.
“So, Issy, you’re waiting for Ben and Mimic, you're waiting for Alyse. And if you two actually do get together with those two, Issy, you won’t just be Mimic’s big sister, but his stepmother too?”
Mimic looked at Issy with a disgusted look.
“Yeah, little Bro, ready to call me mommy?”
“Gross, Is, shut up.”
“Well, the only way to avoid that is not to be with Alyse.”
