I checked in with Shadow. He and Heidi were doing a lot better, and they were talking. Mom and dad were going to the hospital to visit her, and mom told me she was going to share her past with Heidi, and to let her know that Heidi could talk to her when doubts were plaguing her. Mom explained to me that abused women sometimes revert to depression because of the voices that tell you that you aren’t good enough, and it’s hard to ignore them. But with help, some therapy, and having a support system, healing will start and make one happier and more trusting.
I gave dad a hundred dollars and asked him to get a bouquet of flowers from Michelle, Rayna and I. He nodded and clapped me on the shoulder before they left this morning.
