I had thought I would use the weekend to rewind, especially after my run-ins with Brandon.
I was dead wrong.
Since my mother was more than happy to look after the kids, I had intended to sleep in, so I was a bit irritated when my phone started ringing. I ignored it the first time, but it rang for a second time, and I had no choice but to open my eyes.
I reached for my phone on the night stand, surprised to see that it was my sister calling. She was over at her boyfriend’s house, and she knew of my plans to rest this weekend.
I answered the call and brought the phone to my ear. “It better be urgent.”
