There was a knock on my door before it was opened to reveal my secretary. “Sir, Miss Johnson is here.”
“Tell her I'm busy.”
“Uh, she's here with your daughter…”
I gritted my teeth. Bailey was annoying. I had told her not to show up unannounced, especially at my workplace but she always found a reason to do just that. Her child with me was supposed to be a secret, but she ended up telling everyone who was present to hear.
The news about our child almost damaged my career but my father was able to turn it around and soon, they saw me as the man who stepped up to take care of his child. The whole situation was annoying and it just drove Bailey and I further apart. She kept making things worse by visiting whenever she wanted, not caring that I was busy with work.
