It was a Friday and after a long week of work, I was happy to rewind and relax for the weekend. Well, that was after dinner with the kids and Jack. They liked Jack a lot and when they heard that he was around, they insisted on meeting him, hence the dinner.
It was already a stressful day at work and I believed it wouldn’t get any worse. I was wrong. The minute we stepped inside the restaurant, I felt someone watching me.
While Jack confirmed our reservation, I looked around the room, taken aback when I locked eyes with Brandon. However, he wasn’t alone. He had his daughter on his lap and his daughter’s mother was sitting across from him. I felt a weird ache in my chest immediately.
