Cara’s POV
Things quietened quickly once the Council secured Emily and Lisa in their SUV. Knowing them, they were probably both trying to devise a defense for their actions. There was none, so I don’t see why they would have considered trying to come up with lies, but they wanted to save their own skin.
Paxton had stopped them from leaving until Lisa had accepted his rejection. She was furious. Not only had Paxton decided to Alpha command her, but so had one of the Council members. She was forced to do it, but it was under duress. We could all tell what she was thinking. She was going to claim that she was forced into it, and she was. But there was no law preventing it. She could scream and yell all she wanted about it. Their bond was finally broken.
