Finding the Traitor
Arthur had not left Elara’s bedside once for the three weeks she was bedridden and unconscious.
During week four, Brent came to him with an antidote and had the nurse administer it. Arthur had hired a nurse, and while she was responsible for changing the IV and Elara’s catheter, Arthur did everything else himself, taking care to bathe and make sure Elara had a fresh change of clothes every day.
Shortly, after the nurse administered the antidote to Elara’s IV, Arthur saw his wife’s eye flutter momentarily.
He held her hand. “Elara,” he said softly. “Honey, it’s me.”
“Arthur?” Elara said groggily. She tried to get up but Arthur stopped her.
