Chapter 152 : Rael’s Silence Caitlyn’s POV We started heading down into Hollowed Ridge just after sunrise. The cold felt sharper here, like stepping barefoot on a pointed spear. The trees grew too close together, tall and bare, casting long shadows across the snow-covered path. The air was still but heavy, as if the forest was watching with bated breath, waiting for someone or something to take the wrong step. The others weren’t keeping up. Keir lagged behind, cursing under his breath and spitting into the snow every few steps, like that would somehow make it less cold. Someone tripped over a root and nearly knocked over a lantern, swearing loudly and blaming the ground like it had done it on purpose. Rael was ahead of me, quiet and measured, with his bow hanging on one shoulder.
