R O S A L I E I woke up to Axel’s arms wrapped securely around me. For a moment, I forgot about the attack. For a moment, everything felt normal. Then, the memories came flooding back. I shuddered, a wave of fear washing over me. "It's okay," Axel's voice was a low rumble in my ear. "You're safe." I turned to face him, my heart aching at the sight of him. He had dark circles under his eyes, a clear sign he hadn't slept much. "Did you stay up all night?" I asked, my voice hoarse. "I couldn't sleep," He said, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "I was too busy watching you." I managed a weak smile. "You don't have to do that. I'm fine." "You're not fine, Rosalie," He said, his expression serious. "You were attacked. You were almost taken from me. You're not fine." He was right.
