The skuffle probably only lasted about thirty seconds and it could have been a lot nastier. Elliott leapt at his son and gave him one solid blow to the mouth, splitting Terry's lip. He tried to follow up with a second, but by now Terry had some of his wits about him, and was able to deflect any physical assault. He was nearly thirty years younger than his father and was in considerably better shape. If this had gotten serious, Terry could have easily beaten the s**t out of him. But instead he simply restrained him until he was calm enough to talk. Or at least calm enough to just content himself with shouting.
