I paused in my tracks, and they did, too, only momentarily. I plastered a smile on my face. Khai's face is stoic, while Norah has a pleasant, practiced smile. I feel Hope hiding behind my legs, maybe a little nervous. I caress her curls softly.
" Luna Marie, hello,"
" Hello, Miss Norah," I smile at her. We exchanged pleasantries and even waved at Hope. And then we stayed silent. I opened my mouth to speak to Khai but closed it soon after. I don't know what to say to him.
" I should go now. We are going for pizza," I said, waving my wallet at him. He nods at me, and I turn, but he suddenly grabs my hand. Tingles appear on my skin, and he releases my hand.
" I'm leaving the pack for a business trip," he says. I nodded and glanced at Norah. Are they going together?
