Harper’s POV
“Have you lost your mind?!”
“Did she put you up to this??”
“This is blasphemous! A blood bond hasn’t been initiated in over a hundred years!”
“Clearly, this woman had poisoned the Alpha’s mind,” one of the council members announced. “He would never willingly choose to perform such a dangerous ritual without informing us.”
Lucas and I spared each other a bemused look. The room had truly turned over in chaos. Not even the head councilman was able to successfully regain order amongst the group.
It wasn't until the main doors opened again that everyone stopped and turned their attention to the astonishing, unexpected presence.
