I continued to stare at Lucas with a heavy gaze. I wouldn’t allow him to escape the conversation for a second time.
I could see he was searching for the right words to use that would likely lessen the blow or severity, but I didn’t want him to sugarcoat any of it. After everything we’d been through, he should have already known that I could handle whatever it was.
