The secretary is in the lobby, standing in the corner and looking miserable. I noticed that someone new was already sitting at her desk. Serves her right for being a b***h, but I can't help but feel pity for her. She approaches me, looking demure and apologizing for her behavior earlier.
Ciera picks me up from Kian's headquarters. "Nice ride," I say as I get in.
"Mason got it for me after high school graduation," she shrugs, a shy smile playing on her lips.
"You and Mason, uh," I tease. I knew they'd date. However, sadness crosses her face. What's that about?
Before I can interrogate her, we arrive at the rooftop restaurant.
"Isn't it too early for drinks?!" I say when I approach my two best friends. Mya screams and throws her arms around me in a tight hug. I missed her so much.
