Kian takes me to the obstetrician's office. A short man with streaks of gray in his blonde hair. He beams when he sees us, standing from his chair.
"Alpha Kian," he bows. He greets me and introduces himself as Dr. John. We take our seats.
He asks questions that I answer. For the next 30 minutes, he explains how to manage pregnancy and discusses prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. I feel a bit bored, but Kian is focused, nodding and asking questions like he's preparing for the biggest exam of his life. Also, he's not the one carrying the baby, for Christ's sake! But seeing him this passionate makes me feel safe and not scared about being a young mom.
