The sound of the lock clicking shut sent a chill straight through me. I wasn’t sure if it was fear, or the thrill of knowing there was no escape now. The room suddenly felt smaller, the walls closer, his presence filling every corner until I couldn’t breathe without inhaling him. He leaned back against the door, arms crossed, watching me like a predator that had already won. My pulse was racing, yet I couldn’t bring myself to move. My body felt glued to the spot, trembling between defiance and surrender. “What do you want from me?” The words came out sharper than I intended, though my voice still shook. He smiled—slow, lazy, dangerous. “Everything.” The way he said it made my stomach twist, made my thighs press together as though I could stop the rush of heat pooling there. I hated it.
