I didn’t expect him to be there. The moment I stepped off the street and into the apartment lobby, I already hated myself for forgetting my damn keys. The elevator was out, of course, and dragging my bag up four flights of stairs was a nightmare. My shirt clung to my back, and I was halfway regretting ever booking this place. I fumbled with the lock, cursing under my breath, and that’s when I heard it. A soft chuckle behind me. “Need some help?” I froze. Tall. Dark hair, sharp jawline, eyes that were way too calm for someone standing in a random stranger’s apartment building.
