"Sorry, did I startle you?" Sabrina gave me an apologetic look.
Her thoughtfulness caught me off guard. "No, I just... I'm surprised Brian called you in to treat me."
"Don't apologize. You're the Alpha's mate. This is exactly what he should do." Sabrina winked at me. "Brian's waited long enough for you. When you got hurt right under his nose, of course he'd move heaven and earth for you."
"What do you mean?" I sensed there was more to her words.
"You'll find out soon enough." Her smile turned mysterious. "The important thing is you're safe, Ms. Fleming. Rest up. You can leave tomorrow. Your parents and friends will be overjoyed to hear you're awake."
She gave me another wink before leaving the room.
